BUSY TIMES AT KILKENNY

BUSY TIMES AT KILKENNY

Ian Fortune

This Friday’s action at Kilkenny will include the opening round heats of the T.P. Weadick Open 725 and the Georgie Leahy Memorial A3 525.

The T.P. Weadick Open 725 has attracted a tremendous entry of real quality.

Last year’s Corn Cuchulainn champion Kinturk Road heads the entry and will be very difficult to beat, although the likes of Ballinabola Una, Ballymac Katie, Tuono Charlie, Faypoint Angry and Peters Sydney must also be shown high levels of respect.

MORE TO LOOK FORWARD TO

With the McCalmont Cup and the Thomastown GAA Fundraiser done and dusted for another year, attention now turns to the James Stephens GAA Fundraiser and gala night of racing which is scheduled for Friday, April 19th.

The Georgie Leahy Memorial A3 is the first of the sponsored sweepstakes run in conjunction with the night and owners and trainers should take note of further sponsored sweepstakes and one-off races currently being advertised at the track. These include a 12-dog A1 525 and a 12-dog A2 525 set to start on Friday week, April 12th.

APRIL 6th SALE GOES AHEAD

The sales meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 6th will go ahead as planned.

Owners and trainers should note that entries are over-subscribed and it won’t be possible to get everyone on the catalogue.
