CHARLIE FLAWLESS AGAIN IN WEADICK 725

Tuono Charlie was a brilliant winer of the TP Weadick Open 725 at Kilkenny on Friday night, justifying odds on favouritism in the process.

The Sharon Hunt trained powerhouse had been nothing short of flawless through the stake and he again displayed big early speed to get off the front on the opening corner.

It was all one-way traffic thereafter. Twofourone displayed plenty of pace to move second into the third turn but there was little he could do to worry the leader. Kinturk Road also gave chase but the bird had flown.

After posting a fastest of the competition 40.42 in the semis, Tuono Charlie went even faster on this occasion. Paul Dyer’s son of Good News and Farranrory Bonny maintained a relentless gallop throughout to emerge a thoroughly deserving winer of the €2,200 prize by three and a half lengths over Twofourone in 40.37 with Ballymac Katie running on to grab third, a further length and a half adrift.
