SHOTGUN LIKE A BULLET IN JACKET

The warm favourite Shotgun Bullet duly obliged in the final of the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket at Crayford on Tuesday night, dominating throughout to see off the plucky Mrs Roo.

The Derek Knight trained star was foot-perfect through the preliminaries and he continued his winning ways in real style. Breaking fastest from trap three, the son of Kinloch Brae and Winning Impact was soon in complete command.

One of the outsiders, Piemans Jet gave chase for much of the way, but Mrs Roo emerged as the leader’s closest rival on the second circuit. Her chase was in vain however, as Shotgun Bullet is in unstoppable form at present.

He galloped on strongly to eventually come home three and three quarter lengths clear in the £17,500 decider, clocking a rapid 44.95 in the process. In victory he was completing a sequence of six straight successes that also saw him capture the Coronation Cup at Romford last month.
