Towstar Paddy is a name to watch out for in the coming months after he posted a superb 29.29 in the final of the ON2 Unraced Stake at Mullingar on Saturday night.
The Margaret Bolton trained youngster was having just his second career start and maintained his unbeaten record in emphatic fashion. Breaking smartly, he led his kennel companion Toolmaker Harry around the turn and down the back straight but it was Glenquain Mick that came through for second. This was all about Towstar Paddy, however.
The son of Droopys Roddick and Malteaser ran on strongly to cross the line eight lengths clear. His time was impressive but it seems safe to say he will go faster after losing ground on both the opening and third turns. The July ’18 whelp is owned by the Towstars-Syndicate and will clearly give them plenty of sport in the future.
