THREE ON THE TROT FOR SCOOBY PRINCESS

Barry Drake

SCOOBY PRINCESS (Ballymac Eske-Mountaylor Queen) ran out a most deserving winner of Saturday night's feature at Curraheen Park, the final of the €4,500 Shelley Fennelly Memorial Open 550.

Trained by Jennifer O'Donnell for Steve Noble, the star performer, a 5-2 chance in the ring, was making it three straight wins in the event. Overcoming a tough draw and a sluggish start, the winner was only fourth heading down the back as Witches Ethiopia cut out the early running. Battling well in the closing stages and pulling out all the stops, Scooby Princess ran on strongly to deny Ballymac Wisdom, by three and a half lengths, in 29.79.
