The final sales auction of 2018 took place at Thurles Park in late November and it proved to be a very popular one with buyers forking out almost €80,000 in total over the course of the day.
Lot 80, ‘Lacken Bolt’ topped the market with a final bid of €4300. The October 16’ son of ‘Droopys Jet - Lacken Rua’ was a trial winner in 29.38 .30s. ‘Bolt’ is lightly raced, having just the five starts but has already consistently broke the 29 second barrier on three of those occasions and new connections will be hoping for more of the same going forward.
Lot 12 was ‘Minnies Sergei’, an unraced July 17’ pup by ‘Droopys Cain - Minnies Luselle’. This young dog only had the two marks on his book prior to his sales trial where he romped home twelve lengths in front in 29.81 .30s. The hammer dropped at €4150.
Lot 7 was ‘Toems Rascal’ who was next best, selling for €4000. This youngster, now known by his new connection as ‘Craineyswindmill’, led all the way to win his sales trial by six lengths in 29.99 .30s.
