Not for the first time in his short career, Magical Jasper put on a breathtaking performance at Galway on Saturday night as he produced a demolition job in A1 company.

Owned by Alice Guilfoyle and trained by Pat Guilfoyle, Magical Jasper hit the headlines with a devastating 31.45 over the 575 yard trip in Limerick and despite two subsequent defeats since, he certainly got back to winning ways in convincing fashion. A full brother to Laughil Josh, Magical Jasper went to traps an even money shot and he duly took a flier from trap four to lead into the opening bend. It wasn’t all one way traffic to the first turn as several runners challenged early doors but Magical Jasper showed real courage to sweep the bend and quickly take control. From here, it was over as a contest as the gap soon opened and further extended with every stride. The result never in doubt, the son of ‘Head Bound - Laughil Louise’ never took his foot off the gas as he stormed over the line a massive twelve and a half lengths clear. The time was a brilliant calculated 28.66 and to put that run into perspective, the next fastest on the night was some six lengths further back.

The Donal Duggan trained, Doorus Jet was that next best as the May 18’ blue brindle broke his duck with a solid effort.

Owned by Madeleine Walsh, Doorus Jet didn’t have everything his own way as a moderate break saw him languise in third place approaching the opening bend. His chances took a further knock as he was relegated to fourth place around the second bend. However, the son of ‘Droopys Jet - Georgy Girl’ quickly got to grips with the race as he outpaced his rivals down the back and had the field reeled in by the time he met the penultimate turn. Finishing strongly thereafter, Duggan’s charge crossed the line five and a half lengths clear, in a good time of 29.07. The winner returned the even money favourite.

In other races, Drombeg Dancer notched a third victory and back to back wins in the process for owners Breeda & Kayla McAuliffe.

Well away from trap five, ‘Dancer’ turned in front and made every post a winning one. The daughter of ‘Rio Quattro - Honeypound Chick’ did have to withstand a late surge from Knockdine Me Da but that she did, holding on by a neck to win in 29.38.

Ciara Cunniffe is certainly hitting the right notes with her greyhound Daisys Dazzler as he completed a hat trick of wins in another sprint contest.

From an even break, the blue jacket of Daisys Dazzler showed some nice early pace to gallop up the rail and take a narrow lead around the opening bend. Moving slightly off the fence at this point, the lead was briefly surrendered rounding the bottom bend. Once straightened up however, the son of ‘Storm Control - Creevy Charm’ stayed on best of all close home to claim a length and three parts victory. The time was 19.72 for the 5/4 jolly.
