This year’s Boylesports Derby will benefit from extra coverage with Racing Post Television committing to showing the competition from the third round onwards.

Speaking on behalf of the IGB, Joe Lewins, who shortly retires as the IGB’s director of tote and wagering, said: “The Irish Greyhound Derby is the highlight of the annual racing calendar.

“Running since 1928, it has retained its top-class status attracting huge interest from within and outside the greyhound community.

“The IGB is delighted with RPGTV partnership for the 2020 BoyleSports Derby which will see all races from the third round onwards being screened live and we’ve no doubt that all will thoroughly enjoy top class, exciting action.”

The third round of the Derby is scheduled for August 29th and will share billing on RPGTV with the Summer Stayers from Monmore. Kevan Moretti, chairman & CEO of GTV Ltd, also commented: “We’re thrilled that RPGTV will be expanding its Irish Derby coverage this year.

“We’ll be adjusting RPGTV's schedule to show the racing at Shelbourne from the third round through to the final on September 19. We look forward to seeing the very best of Irish greyhound racing.”

Of course, RPGTV has recently launched a weekly Irish Focus, which will be shown each Wednesday evening, and this latest breakthrough will come as another bonus to those who follow Irish greyhound racing.
