MCLEAN CONTINUING HIS FLYING FORM AT YOUGHAL TRACK

IN superb form in recent times, Clonmel trainer Kevin McLean once again stole the show at Youghal track on Monday night.

With the Coronavirus outbreak, it meant only a handful of people were in attendance. However, it didn't affect the standard of racing.

BUTCH HAT TRICK

Race seven, an A1 contest, saw Kerryroad Butch break the magical 29-second barrier once more.

A 6-4 chance in the ring, the winner broke quickly but Tuckeys Charm soon took over. Neck and neck at the third corner, the powerful lady then pulled away to beat the running on Choice Exile. Two lengths between them, in 28.87. A hat trick of straight successes for Kerryroad Butch.

DOUBLE UP

McLean doubled up in race 10, an A2, with Beatbytheboro.

The 2-1 chance showed great early, avoiding the trouble at the opening corner, he soon raced clear. Dog of the year at the Youghal track last year, Beatbytheboro came home ten lengths clear of his nearest rival, in a fast, 29.05. Beatbytheboro has now won a total of 22 times.
McLean himself brought his winning tally to 20 this year.
