LONGFORD CLOSING FOR IMPROVEMENTS

Longford Track will close for racing for the month of December but the track will re-open for business at the start January.

Next Monday’s meeting will be the last of the year at the track but Longford greyhounds will be facilitated at Mullingar on Friday nights while there will be a maximum of four “Longford Races” at the Shelbourne meetings on Thursday nights during the month of December.

Racing manager Paddy Farrington confirmed that improvement work will be carried out at the track during the closure with new kennels and weigh-room being developed.

So, for the month of December the Longford dogs will be racing at Mullingar on the nights of 7th, 14th and 21st while a maximum of four races nightly will be staged at Shelbourne on 6th, 13th and 20th.   

Meetings will resume at Longford on Mondays in January and then from February the meetings will be staged on Mondays and Wednesdays.
