Eamon Cleary reports that that his BoyleSports Derby champion Ballyanne Sim has joined Sean Bourke’s Newpark Stud team for a brief spell.
But Cleary makes it clear that the spell in the stud business will be brief while a number of straws are taken which will be available to breeders.
Cleary said, “Eugene Robinson is the man who persuaded me to run the dog in the Derby and he was proved spot on. Eugene is also the man who has suggested that we give the dog a brief spell at the Newpark Stud and hopefully that will be equally successful”.
However Cleary makes it clear that “There has been no change of plans with the dog. He will be spending a few weeks at Newpark Stud and then the dog will go back into training in January. Our intention is to go for the English Derby and the Irish Derby next year.
“We still don’t know where the English Derby will be run but our plan it to send Sim for the event wherever it is run. He has such good early pace that he should be popular with breeders”.
