COVID-19 CARE PAYMENT SCHEME – CONDITIONS AND FURTHER UPDATE

IGB

Owners and Trainers are advised of the following conditions and update regarding Covid -19 Greyhound Care payments due to be processed.

  • - The payment is applicable to all greyhounds that have raced or trialled at an IGB licensed Stadium from the period of February 11th 2020 to March 24th 2020 (inclusive).

  • - Greyhounds that have raced or trialled in Drumbo or Derry but not at an IGB licensed Stadium in this period will not qualify for the Covid -19 Payment as they would not have been in receipt of IGB Prizemoney in such circumstances.

  • - All Transfers of Ownerships must be promptly notified to the Irish Coursing Club to permit payment being paid to the new registered owner.

  • - Should the Owner and Public Trainer of a greyhound elect to have care payments directed to the trainer, the onus is on both parties to have the required paperwork completed and sent to the Regulation Department, well in advance of April 9th when payments will be made. Retrospective payments cannot be accommodated.

  • - Owners and Trainers should notify the IGB of the export of any greyhound that is eligible for the Covid -19 Payment Scheme, such as those registered in the United Kingdom. Similarly all transfer of ownerships and greyhound deaths should be appropriately registered with the Irish Coursing Club.

  • - The IGB will be in regular contact with the ICC and GBGB to update relevant records

  • - The Greyhound Care Payment is being made to ensure the care and welfare of racing greyhounds in order to prepare such greyhounds for the resumption of greyhound racing

  • - Failure to comply with the above provisions may affect future payments assigned to persons who fail to carry out such notifications.
