Just a month from now, on Saturday, November 30th the crowds will pour through the stiles for the eighth annual Night of Stars.
The brainchild of the late Michael Fortune and his partner in crime, Pat O’Donovan, this year’s night will be particularly poignant.
Just over four and a half months after his passing, it is hoped this will prove a fitting tribute to Michael and be the best Night of Stars since the inaugural running in 2012. Thankfully, the reaction from potential sponsors has been overwhelming in the past months and the stage of now set for a night of real celebration.
Following the success of the Derby, the Laurels at Cork and the undoubted success of the upcoming Leger, the Night of Stars should provide another ideal opportunity for the greyhound racing fraternity to stand up and be counted. By filling the stands, we can again show the love of our sport and garner headlines for the right reasons.
As always, the Night of Stars committee are inviting anyone interested in becoming a Club Member to get in touch. Membership, which costs just €100, entitles you to Admission, Guaranteed seating, a Four Course Dinner with Wine, Free Entry to the Raffle and Club Membership.
There is also the ever-popular pre-racing drinks reception for those that arrive early and wish to get acquainted with their fellow Club Members. Of course, in recent years, the after-racing party has grown with visitors from the UK and those wishing to let their hair down continuing to celebrate late into the night.
Your support is what makes the night possible, so please don’t delay and be part of another special night in Irish greyhound racing.
