Greyhound racing lost another great friend in recent days following the sudden passing of Andy Petticrew. Andy first got involved in greyhounds in the eighties when a regular at Ballyskeagh (Now Drumbo Park).
He moved to Wicklow 23 years ago and, more recently, Enniscorthy but continued to love greyhound racing and owned numerous dogs through the years. The best greyhound he was associated with was the aptly named A Decent Lad, who won at many tracks and posted a brilliant 28.56 around Shelbourne Park.
A popular figure, Andy will be missed by all his many friends at Enniscorthy track and those in the greyhound world and we pass on our sincerest condolences to his wife Eileen, his children Linda, Andrew, Leanne, Mark, Ciara, Martin and Christina, his grandchildren, brothers and sisters, extended family and many friends. May he Rest In Peace.
Late of Holywood, Co. Down.
Beloved husband of Eileen, dearly loved father of Linda, Andrew, Leanne, Mark, Ciara, Martin and Christina and much loved brother of Noel, Joanie, Margaret and Liz. Predeceased by his brother Sab and his nephew Steven.
