ACE HEADING FOR SEVEN – STILL GOING STRONG

ACE HEADING FOR SEVEN – STILL GOING STRONG

Michael Fortune

What is the oldest dog currently racing in Ireland? It is a question inspired by tonight’s fifth race at Enniscorthy which is called “”The Blacksmith Ace 100 & Still Going Strong A5 525”.

Owned by Chloe O’Hanlon the October ’12 whelp will be seven years of age in October but he is still well able to hold his own in his current company.

Blacksmith Ace ran his first race in June ’14 at Newbridge when winning in 29.22. He has managed to win at least one race every year since and has been a winner at Newbridge, Harold’s Cross, Shelbourne Park, Enniscorthy and Waterford.

His latest success was at Waterford on February 9th when he won an A5/6 contest in 29.88.

No doubt we will hear of an older greyhound still racing so why not contact us with the information. Send your suggestions to news@igb.ie.
